What do you love about the area?: We love the large corner lot with plenty of mature trees for privacy, lake access, close to everything in Forest Lake and 2 minutes from 35 so the cities are only 20 minutes away. Small neighborhood loop with nearly no traffic and a crosswalk at 97 for an easy walk to neighborhood parks. 2mi from the brand new YMCA.

 

What are some great things about Forest Lake?: The City of Forest Lake is growing every day and is committed to improving the community. There are frequent free park events at the lake. Giant 4th of July celebration & Holiday tree lighting. There are arts in the park, performances and farmers markets all summer. The paved walking/bike path is close to our house and a safe way to bike all over town and even bike to Duluth if you want to.

 

What restaurants are nearby?: Our #1 'don't want to cook' alternative is Don Julio's in town and our top date night restaurant is Aqua in Forest Lake. There is fast food for every taste and 3 options for pizza. Big Apple Bagels, Running Aces or Aqua for brunches, Key's Cafe. You need to try the ribs at Norman Quacks and compare them to Famous Daves a mile away. There are enough places in Forest Lake to eat in, take out or host a banquet that you never need to drive far for food.

 

What grocery stores or nearby shopping is there?: There are many options for grocery shopping in town. Our Cub has made the choice to start carrying high-end ingredients because within 2 miles from the house there is a Super Walmart, a Target, and an Aldi. We are also in the range of many great CSA's and a weekly farmers market all summer helps keep interesting veggies and fresh bread in your life.

 

Information about the schools in our area: Forest Lake schools are ever improving with a board that cares deeply about kids and education. The High School has dozens of classes not offered in other districts such as a paramedic program, an auto shop and a nationally ranked agriculture program. Less rare, but still fantastic, there are over 20 AP/college level classes that give kids a jumpstart on college.

 

What do you do for interests and hobbies near the property?: Both Clear Lake, that this home has access to, and Forest Lake have large fishing and boating communities. We love all the parks and walking trails. We, and our children, love seeing the bird life in the area including Bald Eagles nesting nearby.
